Below are offerings for SAT and ACT test preparation. These companies have partnered with the Stone Bridge PTSO and are giving money back to us when students register for their classes/practice tests. The PTSO uses these donations to help fund scholarships and teacher/student needs and events. We encourage you to evaluate and choose the test prep option that best suits the needs of your student.
Huntington Learning Center in Ashburn Village is a valued partner of the Stone Bridge PTSO. HLC is offering a full-length SAT test to Stone Bridge students for $25. The test will be held at Stone Bridge on Saturday, January 22. Pre-registration is required at the link below. Proceeds will be donated back to the Stone Bridge PTSO!

The PTSO does not endorse any college preparatory testing company (and there are many). The decision to have a student receive SAT/ACT prep rests with the parents. There are classroom courses, private tutoring, and online programs for fees and free. The most important consideration for parents in choosing what method will provide the most help for the student is to determine how their student studies or learns best. The National Association of College Admissions Counselors has performed many studies about the merits of formal preparation for college entrance exams; the end result seems to be that the advantage depends on the individual.
Most colleges/universities will use a student's highest scores on either the ACT or the SAT when considering a student for admission. The ACT is considered a knowledge based test and includes a science section, while the SAT is considered a reasoning based test without science questions. Please check the SBHS guidance office College and Career Center for information on both exams. There are many ways to prepare for the college entrance exams, but the above organizations have partnered with our PTSO to give back to Stone Bridge.
