2022 SENIOR BEACH PARTY VOLUNTEERS

Volunteer Information

  • Dress comfortably in shorts or pants. The event is rain or shine! We do encourage tropical wear. Hawaiian shirts (with school appropriate graphics!), etc.
  • Please plan to be in the sun, although we will do our best to have shaded areas throughout the event.
  • Please leave your valuables in your car. We do not have a safe place for purses or valuables.
  • Restrooms are located in the main hallway in the school.
  • Do not join in the games as a participant. Our roles are to run the activities, staff the various posts, and be as invisible as possible.
  • There are floaters/committee leads available if you need a break for a few minutes. Raffle tickets are given to students after participating in activities.
  • Everything is FREE.
  • Encourage students to migrate and participate. Point out the selfie spots for photos, play bingo, get a caricature, sing a song at karaoke! There’s something for everyone.

Committee Leads:

If you have a question during the party, please contact one of these committee leads:

  • Mary Reilly - 703-309-8249
  • Sue Fuller - 703-994-0195
  • Louise Logue - 571-216-2017
  • Melissa North - 703-608-8467

Project Grad committee members will be dressed in brightly colored “Beach Patrol” t-shirts. Ask any of them for help if you need it. You can also locate assistance at the volunteer check-in or from Assistant Principal, Lisa Tartaglia, or any SBHS Administration staff.

Managing Tickets / Activities / Prizes:

  • The students will receive a lanyard/nametag that has a sticker on one side listing all of the activities. They will also receive one raffle ticket with their name on it for the Grand Prize drawing.
  • They earn tickets throughout the day by participating in activities. On the reverse of their lanyard, volunteers will be asked to cross off the appropriate box once after the student participates, then give the student one ticket.
  • Students may complete the activities as many times as they want, but they can only earn one ticket per activity. It is important to cross it off the lanyard after handing out the ticket.
  • Some games award additional tickets for winning. Those instructions will be provided on the event day.
  • There are a couple of games the students will need to use their phones (as well as for photos). There is a phone changing station inside near the auditorium doors.
  • Students MUST put their name on the ticket prior to dropping into raffle boxes.
  • All raffles will be called at 1:15pm and students must stay to win and be in auditorium.
  • There are also opportunities to earn cash prizes by successfully doing the guess the amount game and the baby wall as well as the best performance/singing at karaoke.  These will be called during the prize session.

IMPORTANT:

PLEASE DO NOT give extra tickets to students as that is unfair to other students and upsets the prize process. They must complete a game according to the instructions that are at each station.

Food Volunteers:

  • Please wear food service gloves.
  • One Chick-fil-a sandwich per student to begin. A limited number of veggie subs will also be offered. There are options for students with food sensitivities.
  • Water and sports drinks will be located around the event. Please remember to hydrate yourself!

Floor Plan and Evacuation Plan:

  • A map of the event is below.
  • In case of inclement weather such as thunderstorms, we will relocate to the auditorium. Please be alert and let us know if you see lightning.
